The Candela Alexandrite laser operates with a highly effective 755 nm wavelength, which is absorbed optimally by the hair's melanin to permanently destroy the hair root. IPL uses broad light that penetrates less deeply and requires more sessions. Compared to standard diode lasers, the Alexandrite laser delivers superior results for fine and lighter hair. Additionally, the integrated Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) ensures dark skin types are treated safely and effectively.
Typically, 6 to 8 sessions are required. Since hair grows in different cycles and the laser can only target hair follicles in their active growth phase (anagen phase), multiple treatments spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart are necessary to achieve complete clearance.
