Not everyone wants a completely hair free upper body. Often it is about one part, for example the centre line on the stomach or the chest without the shoulders. We treat in Grünwald on the southern edge of Munich, and Magdalena Graml treats you herself.

Which parts are meant
The area covers the chest, the skin around the nipples, the stomach and the centre line between the breastbone and the pubic area. Each of these parts can be treated on its own. The nipple itself is not lasered, it is strongly pigmented; the skin around it is.
If you want to keep part of the hair, tell us beforehand. We note where the treated surface ends so the transition stays soft and no edge appears.
Why this area is straightforward
The skin on chest and stomach is considered less sensitive than on the face or in the intimate area, and the surface is easy to reach. In many men the hair is strong and dark, so it absorbs the light well. Only hair that is actively growing is reached, which is why the sessions repeat.
How the treatment works
It starts with the free trial treatment on one spot. Afterwards we know which of the two wavelengths of our device suits you, 755 nanometre alexandrite or 1064 nanometre Nd:YAG.
During the session we work the surface in lanes, and before every pulse a burst of cold protects the skin. As a rule 6 to 8 sessions are needed, 4 to 8 weeks apart. About two weeks after the first session many treated hairs fall out by themselves.
Before and after a session
Shave chest and stomach before the appointment. The laser needs the root in the skin, and wax or an epilator takes it out.
How long to leave out wax, plucking, sun and self tanner beforehand depends on your skin and on the season. Tanned skin absorbs a lot of light itself, so we look at it before every session. You do not get a list of prohibitions, you get advice that fits you.
After the session the skin is briefly irritated, often slightly red, and that usually settles within a few hours. Whether to wait a few days with sauna, swimming pool, sport or sun is something Magdalena tells you afterwards, depending on how your skin reacted. You may shave between appointments at any time.
Who it suits, and where the limit is
With the two wavelengths almost all skin and hair types can be treated. White, grey and very light blond hairs contain no melanin and cannot be removed. On chest hair that is turning grey this means the dark part goes and the grey part stays.
We do not laser over tattoos. Moles and prominent pigmented spots are covered. If the skin in the area is acutely irritated we wait until it has calmed down. Medication that makes the skin sensitive to light belongs in the conversation beforehand.
What chest and stomach laser hair removal costs
The price follows the area and the time. Whether just the stomach line, the chest or both: the area determines the time and so the price. Skin and hair play a part too: dark, strong hair on light skin absorbs the light best and needs the fewest sessions. As a rule it is 6 to 8.
What you pay is fixed in writing after the free trial treatment, before the first treatment begins. Nothing is added that was not discussed. Are the nipples treated as well?
The nipple itself is not lasered because it is strongly pigmented. We treat the skin around it, so the area looks even overall.
Can I keep part of the hair?
Yes. Many people have only the centre line on the stomach treated, or thin out the chest and keep the rest. We set the borders together beforehand.
Is the centre line on the stomach included?
It is a small area of its own and is often requested on its own. Whether it belongs to your plan is your decision.
How many sessions are needed?

Does the treatment hurt?
Before every pulse, a short cooling burst chills the skin. Most people describe the sensation as a quick flick, far more comfortable than waxing. No laser treatment is entirely painless.
Does the laser help with ingrown hairs and razor burn?
Yes, often noticeably. Without regrowing hair tips, the most common triggers for ingrown hairs and inflamed follicles disappear, and redness from shaving fades once the razor is no longer needed.
What is normal after a session?
A slight redness or a mild feeling of warmth – both fade quickly. Afterwards, the treated areas need consistent sun protection with SPF 50.
